Summary:
'Only a few weeks ago, we had ten minutes of rain,' says Christopher, the manager of Tierra Atacama. 'It will probably be all for the rest of the year.' Yet, thanks to natural sources and the ice water from the Andes, there is life in the driest place on Earth. In the Atacama desert in northern Chile, trees grow and flowers bloom and there are pretty villages like San Pedro de Atacama, a dusty town with adobe houses along unpaved streets. After a day of hiking, biking or four wheel touring, a true spectacle awaits the guests when the moonlike landscape turns from gold into pink and purple during sunset.
